In today’s era, stress has been remarkably constant. Almost all the things we do causes stress. And by the end of the day, that stress build-up may lead to tension, anxiety, or even depression.
Stress can also become contagious. Let us say one of your workmates came in after he and his wife fought, it may lead to him being irritated, and once someone approaches him, he suddenly bursts out. That person that approached him may feel the stress as the other. It will then become a chain of events.
Due to the “epidemic” of stress, workers become less productive, and more errors arise. This has caused companies to start hiring and paying researchers to help in resolving or decreasing the amount of stress in the workplace.
Individually, it may cause exacerbation of illnesses. It was also shown to increase incidences of acne breakout and rapid aging. For females, it may cause hormonal dysfunction that may lead to menstrual problems; while for males, it may cause erectile dysfunction. Stress also leads to either insomnia or increased sleepiness. Other effects of stress on our body are headaches, heartburn, acidity, tense muscles, and many more.
What are the ways to reduce stress in our stress in the workplace? What are the things we can do to get more productive?
1. Meditation– People have been having a hard time refocusing after eating lunch, different meditation techniques help your mind and body refocus. Meditation will help to keep you working efficiently for the rest of the day.
2. Take a short and peaceful walk– the same as meditation; it will help you refocus on the tasks you need to do. It will also help you think and provide realizations,
3. Aromatherapy– different scents stimulate certain parts of our brain, it can help you feel relaxed, energized, and more aware.
4. Practice optimism– this might take time for you to become entirely optimistic, but starting as early as now will help you become one as soon as possible. A smile can be an excellent start for you.
5. Breathing strategies– deep breathing exercises have been proven to help patients that are in pain, anxious, or panicking. Practicing these relaxation techniques will not only help your mind loosen, but it will also help you stay sharp throughout the day.…
